Born on October 31st, 1976 to the founding member of NoMO (Nation of Militant Organists), Les travelled the country being taught the inner working of organs, pipes, pedals and Beethoven. His parents drove an extended version of a 1958 Chevy Impala that had been turned into a hearse and then modified into a low ceilinged camper. "So much for incognito," as he would say. It wasn't until he was sixteen that Avocado discovered Harry Stephen Keeler. Keeler was the influence that has hung over Avocado like Dostoyevsky has to many others. He would spend six years trying to write like Keeler and then the rest of his life trying to write beyond him. He has no college education, at least no university has claimed him and claims to have learned his craft by copying books by hand on the long trips endured during his childhood. I personally have only seen one such handwritten copy of The Rainbow. He is currently alive and traveling by rail.
